5 things to check before you buy
- Breathable material: pick thin fabric or mesh that lets air through, not thick fleece that traps heat
- Cooling mats: cooling fabric and gel mats exist; read the instructions and make sure your cat does not chew the filling
- Open design: dome and enclosed beds run warm, so choose open or flat designs in summer
- Size: your cat should be able to stretch out fully
- Easy to wash: pick a bed that can be washed or wiped clean, since summer beds collect odor and fur quickly
